Having things you treasure framed is a lovely way to enjoy and preserve them.
We designed and made this special frame for a couple celebrating their Diamond Wedding anniversary. The letter from the late Queen would be one of the last she sent before passing away in 2022.
The couple chose a classic gold moulding for the frame. We used a double mount, hand painting the inner one in cornflower blue to match the Queen’s outfit.
The letter and envelope are fixed to the conservation backing board using archival glue. And we carefully stitched the gold braid to keep it securely in position.
Precision framing like this can transform precious belongings into something truly memorable.
