We framed this lovely textile art in a double-sided, freestanding box frame.
Why double sided? Our customer wanted to enjoy viewing her ‘Winter Jasmine Fairy’ artwork while also being able to flip the frame over to read the handstitched poem.
Our solution was to craft a box frame to house the two separate pieces of fabric.
We made this chunky frame with deep spacing fillets to house the fabric pieces and glass. It is deep enough to stand upright on a shelf or tabletop for easy viewing of both sides.
The spacing fillets do the important job of keeping the fabric away from the glass – a technique we often use when not using a window mount for textiles or artwork.
We hand-finished the frame with an off-white stain to complement the image beautifully. Reduced reflection glass minimises glare and helps prevent fading by blocking out 70% of harmful UV light.
If you have a textile or artwork that deserves the perfect frame, please get in touch. We’d love to hear from you.
