Arctic Monkeys drumstick

Box frame

When a customer brought us a drumstick used by the Arctic Monkeys during their live concert in Cardiff, we knew this was a coveted piece of music history and a cherished personal memory.

Our goal was to create a display that celebrated the story behind this one-of-a-kind souvenir while offering the highest standard of preservation and presentation.

Design approach

To showcase the drumstick, we designed a bespoke box frame that offers both depth and protection. Off-white spacing fillets were used to create separation between the glass and the object, allowing the piece to “breathe” within the frame.

Mounting and glazing

The drumstick was delicately suspended onto conservation mountboard using invisible nylon thread. This technique holds the item securely without adhesives or visible fixings, creating the illusion that it’s floating within the frame. The result is a clean, understated display that keeps the focus firmly on the object itself.

For optimal clarity, we used reduced-reflective glass, which minimises glare and ensures the drumstick remains clearly visible from every angle.

Outcome

The finished frame feels contemporary yet timeless, transforming a piece of music memorabilia into a museum-worthy display.

With professional framing, the memory of an unforgettable night of live music is preserved and ready to take pride of place on the wall.
