Artist Susie Brooks is a printmaker and illustrator who creates unique artwork for local and international clients.
She has a Master’s Degree in Printmaking from Bristol UWE and works from her studio in Wiltshire and Spike Print Studio in Bristol.
For her artwork, she begins by drawing with a traditional dip pen or using sources such as vintage postcards, maps, photos and her memories. She then transfers these images to silkscreen plates where colour is added in layers.
Describing her involved, hand printmaking process, she says:
“I liken it to fishing in that the time spent making the prints is enjoyable and absorbing in itself, the finished print is not the only reward.”
Susie lives in Wiltshire with her partner, two children and seven pets.
